Sometimes What Appears To Be Racism Is Just A Lack Of Think-Through

I was at a local grocery store yesterday, one with a large buffet with different sections and many employees. As it was, I chose to get some Chinese food. As I went to pay for my food, a young man with obvious Chinese heritage walked out of the back room and by chance I read his name tag:
Edward
Chinese

I really, really, really hope that this was a description of the department he worked in.

At a hotel in Las Vegas, all the employees had their hometown or home country on their name tag. Perhaps it was supposed to be a conversation starter, to see how no one in that whole city was a native. Or the locals wouldn't be caught dead working in a casino. One of those. Anyhoo, I had a very nice conversation with a woman from Viet Nam. I thought it was kind of a nice ice-breaker.
